Whakaki is in mourning!! Our Tohunga o te manaaki was tragically taken from us on Sunday.

Loved tama mātāmua of Titch(dec) and Georgeina.  Cherished tuakana of Glenys and Kevin, and Charlie (dec) and Marg.  Loving and proud Papa of BJ and Moana, Erina, Pura and Sam, Hera and Dexter, and Janine.  Special friend of Mags.  Best and ‘crazy’ koroua of Ratana, Tuku, Billy, Eli, Te Waerea, Ryu, Aronui, Erina, Ryland and Arahine.  Treasured and idolised Uncle, Cousin, Bro and friend to all who knew him.

Dad will be at Pickering’s funeral chapel on Wednesday the 14th of September from 1pm to 5pm. From there he will travel home to 21 Hinepua Road, Whakaki. He will then lie at Whakaki marae on Thursday the 15th of September, where his nehu will be held on Saturday the 17th of September at 11am. His final resting place will be at Whakaraapaki Urupa.
