Passed away peacefully at Wairoa Hospital on 24 September 2026 aged 89.
Dearly loved and treasured wife of Michael Lewis (dec), mother of Anthony & Marie, Cynthia, Mary, Rudy & Vivienne, Jim & Jackie Lewis, Michelle & Hirini McIroy. Beloved whangai mum of Kurawari Panere. Much loved and cherished sister, daughter, aunty, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother of many. Ko Ngāti Kuia, Ko Ngāti Apa, Ko Rangitāne o Wairau, Ko Ngai Tahu hoki ōna iwi.
Mum will lie at 36 Railway Road, Wairoa on 24th September and will travel to Hinemihi Marae on 25th September at 11am.
A service to celebrate mum’s life will be held at Hinemihi Marae on Sunday, 27th September at 11am followed by her burial at Te Hatepe Urupa.
